Initiated by flautist Eliane Williner (L’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève), the project aims to give the opportunity to 30 children from needy families to receve an education in flute during one year.

Carried by 6 professors in the cantons of Vaud, Geneva and Fribourg, the project will stard during the 2021 edition of the festival and will end during the Junior Festival in 2022.

The project

Tris year troubled by the crisis envisions the creation of a large project completing the existing pedagogical offer of La Côte Flûte Festival, and adapting to the actual social needs. Aware that the number of families in need are increasing even in Switzerland, the festival wishes to offer to 30 childre  the opportunity to have a free musical education. The project contains 3 elements:

  1. Festival 2021
    During the festival days (October 7-10, 2021), an introduction to the flute will be given to the children, and the flute, traverso flute or fife, during groupe workshops.
  2. School year 2021-2022
    After the festival, the children will benefit from a double education: • weekly individuals lessons of 30 minutes with a projessor of an institution of his region. • orchestral practice with the flute choir Piccolo once a month.
  3. Junior Festival 2022
    Every 3 years, a festival edition is dedicated to children. The children of the socio-cultural project will present their work and advancements during this edition taking place form October 6 to 9, 2022. Musicians of the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève will accompany them during their concert
