Silvia Careddu, flûte

Silvia Careddu, Grand Prix á l’ unanimité and Public Prize of the 56th Geneva International Music Competition, was born in Cagliari (Italy) in 1977.

After years of intense studies with her mentor Riccardo Ghiani, attending at the same time the three-years specialization Academy with Raymond Guiot in Rome, Silvia decided to continue her formation in France, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where she obtained the 1er Prix á l’unanimité, avec les felicitations du jury in the classes of P.Y. Artaud, F. Souchard and M. Bourgue.

Aurèle Nicolet, Riccardo Ghiani, Florence Souchard and Emmanuel Pahud marked strongly her musical path.

She has won national and international music competitions, among which: Syrinx International Flute Competition, Prix de l’Académie de Villecroze, Jeunes Talents de la Flute, Premio Sassari, Cagliari Lion’s Club, Fnapec-Chamber Music Competition.

Recently she was nominated principal flute of the famous Austrian orchestra Wiener Symphoniker.
In the last 10 years, she was solo flute of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and since 2011 she holds the same position at the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
Silvia Careddu collaborates as principal flute with major european orchestras, like Bayerisch Rundfunk Orchester, Sinfonieorchester Koln-WDR, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestra Sinfonica A. Toscanini, Münchner Kammerorchester, Philharmonia Orchestra.

Very devoted to pedagogy, she teaches at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and as Guest Professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Badajoz, Spain.
She gives Masterclasses for flute, chamber music and orchestral repertoire in Corea (Summer and Winter academies in Odaesan and Sorak, University of Seul) and in Europe (Académie des Arcs and Academie Spivakov, France), La semana musicale de Salceda e Curso de perfeccionamiento de Anento (Spain).

As a soloist and for chamber music concerts, Silvia is regularly invited in international Music Festivals, among which: Schleswig Holstein, Festival des Arcs, Bürgenstock Momente, Festival de Pollença, Festival de l’ Emperi, Riva del Garda, Hitzacker Festival, Flautissimo, Fukuoka Flute Japan Convention, NFA Flute Convention in USA, AFE Flute Convention in Spain, Festival de Colmar, Festival de Bellerive, Festival d’ Entrecasteaux..
