The Swiss harpist Marie Rittman received her diplomas from the Universities of Music of Lausanne (class of Chantal Mathieu Balavoine) and Frankfurt-on-Main, Germany (class of Françoise Friedrich).

She gained a prize of excellence for her bachelor degree and first class honours for the diplomas in teaching and performance (specialization in orchestral performance). She also obtained 1st prix with distinction in the competition of musical interpretation SSPM.

Marie teaches harp at the City of Basel Music Academy and at the Conservatoire of Music in Neuchâtel. She plays regularly with the Tiroler Festival Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Neuchâtel, the Neuchâtel Symphony Ensemble and, on occasions, with other ensembles in Switzerland and elsewhere including the Bern Camerata, the Basel Sinfonietta, Capriccio and the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra. She gained experience with the Bern Symphony Orchestra as intern during the 2011-2012 season.
