The Flutensemble NicolaSala was set up in 2008. It comprises 15 of the most promising students of the Conservatory Nicola Sala – Benevento. With the addition of a cello and a guitar, the group has developed a vast symphonic-operatic repertoire covering the period from Baroque to the late Twentieth Century, specifically transcribed for a flute ensemble.

The ensemble avails of various instruments belonging to the flute family – ranging from the Piccolo to the C Flute, from the G Flute to the Base Flute. The aim of the ensemble is to enable the players to gain experience in an orchestral repertoire specifically adapted to a chamber music context.

The ensemble has performed at numerous concerts including in the Museo del Sannio in Benevento as part of the “Citta Spettacolo 2011” and at Sant’Agata de Goti’s “Concerti della Dormiente” series for the Dante Alighieri Society, to mark 150th Anniverary of Italian Unification. Their performances have been extremely well received by public and critics alike.

In 2012 the ensemble made its debut on the international scene,

performing in Ireland with the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Recently the Flutensemble NicolaSala participated with great

success in the concert series of the Oratorio del Gonfalone and the Festival di Nuova Consonanza.
