EVARISTO PEREZ “cajón-jazz” TRIO

piano, double bass, cajon, flute

Devoted to encounters in several musical fields, the Geneva pianist, with roots from Catalan, Evaristo Pérez (1969) discovered jazz in Switzerland and Italy with Michel Bastet, Enrico Pieranunzi and Franco D’Andrea. He applies a wide vision to this musical tradition, paying fond attention to, amongst other aspects, a structured liberty within the trio. Equally active in musical educational methods, he strives towards a personalised approach of improvisational music, drawing his inspiration both from solitude and from collective musical journeys.

Permanent percussionist of the Flamenco Festival of Berlin for many years, Marta Themo has acquired a wide and solid approach to improvised musical situations. She evolves with an inventiveness in other styles, bringing her presence and strong foundation as an international percussionist.

Philippe Brassoud has lived for many years in Paris which has facilitated his accompanying many of the big names in French jazz like Alain Jean-Marie, Ibrahim Maalouf as well as American musicians coming over to play in France, recently such as Mulgrew Miller and Jamie Davis. He also tours with Enzo-Enzo. His undeniable instrumental level and his musical generosity are a reflection of his personality.

Amrat Hussein, tablas
