The Dorian Consort, ensemble de musique de chambre

The pleasure of spontaneous music making is what brought the musicians of The Dorian Consort together in 1990. Very quickly, an independent ensemble arose, that since has made its mark through the uniquely authoritative playing of every individual. The agile tone body has developed its expressive strength through analysis of historically informed performance practice, and the experiences gained from tours abroad increased ever more so the flexibility and creativity of the playing.

The presence of The Dorian Consort in concert is unparalleled; the music itself is full of abundant life happiness and natural elegance – soulful and moving. The repertoire encompasses a range from Baroque to the riches of the “Storm and Stress” to Classical and with an elegant jump to the Twentieth and Twenty-first Centuries. The result is contrasting and interesting programs in various instrumentations.
